Dance4all Child Protection Statement

 

Dance4all has a duty of care to safeguard all children involved in Dance4all from harm. All children have a right to protection, and the needs of disabled children and others who may be particularly vulnerable must be taken into account.

 

Dance4all will ensure the safety and protection of all children involved in Dance4all through adherence to the Child Protection guidelines adopted by Dance4all.

 

A child is defined as a person under the age of 18 (The Children Act 1989).

 

The aim of the Dance4all Child Protection Policy is to promote good practice:

 

-Providing children and young people with appropriate safety and protection whilst in the care of Dance4all.

-Allowing all staff/volunteers to make informed and confident responses to specific child protection issues

 

Health & Safety Statement

 

Dance4all recognises its duty of care under Section 3 of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 “to ensure, as far as reasonably practical, that persons not in their employment, who may be affected by their undertaking, are not exposed to risks to their health and safety” and “to give information as might affect their health or safety”.

 

Dance4all has public liability insurance.

Dance4all carries out risk assessments on its activities.

 

Dance4all has a duty of care towards its volunteers. In practice, this means it will take all reasonable steps to reduce the likelihood of harm coming to them, either through action or inaction.

 

Volunteers should acquaint themselves with Dance4all’s procedure in case of fire.
